March 15 - Bluemont Park - Arlington, VA
The Alonzo Stagg Hike is an event heald every year in the Capital Chain Bridge District. It is a day event where Scouts can hike up to 50 miles in a 20 hour period. Crew 2473 has volunteered at this event over the last 6 years as "buddy hikers".
If you would like to volunteer as a "buddy hiker" and use this as Philmont training please be a Bluemont Park, just off Wilson Boulevard, anytime after 4 pm. Come when you can, stay as long as you can. We expect to be volunteering until the last hiker finishes, this could be 11pm.
If you are looking for volunteer hours for school or any other organization, this is a great opportunity to secure hours.

- Dress appropriately (dress in layers)
- Hiking Boots/ Tennis Shoes
- Water
- Backpack with weight (This is if you want to use this as a training hike for all Philmont Trekkers)
